reply in the House of Representatives yesterday to a question by Mr. J. J.Maher (N., Otaki). Mr. Maher said that the bridge was the longest and oldest wooden bridge in the North Island and it was sagging between the piers. Mr. Semple added that when the test piles had been driven, the question of going ahead with the bridge would be considered, after taking into account the availability i of steel and cement.
