MARKET HAS BRIGHTER TONE

Townsend and Paul, Ltd., fruit, produce and poultry auctioneers, Wellington, report that during the past week the market has had a much brighter and cheerful outlook. Tree tomatoes, Chinese gooseberries and passionfruit have been keenly sought, while all citrus have been placed at ceiling price. In the vegetable section supplies have been rather spasmodic, with a keen demand for choice cabbage, asparagus, cauliflower, spinach and peas. Hfeavier supplies of ali varieties of flowers have been coming to hand, with values slightly easier on last week's quotations.. Daffodils, sol d'ors, poppies and tulips are meeting' witn a keen inquiry. All lihes of poultry have been in keen demand, with heavy birds realising choice figures.
