IF BRITAIN WANTS LOAN

If Britain wanted a loan from the International Bank, it would have to be used' f'gr the purposes of1 productive enterprise, said the American presidient of the International Bank, Mr. J. J. McCloy, at a press conference in London today.. He added:. "Loans for the purchase of food don't come within the' scope of the bank's operations, but a loan could be given for purposes relating to the production of food, such as the purchase of agriculturar implements or fertiliser plant." „ M. Camille Gutt, Belgian managing-director of the World Monetary Fund, said that Britain's diffieulties came mainly from her immense and. admirable effort to ensure final victory, and the Monetary Fund could now play its part. Mr. McCloy and M. Gutt are in London for the second annual meeting of the International Bank and World Monetary Fund, which is opening tomorrow.
