TENNIS CHAMPIONS RETIRE FROM MAJOR EVENTS

WELLINGTON, Sept. 10. Mr. R. N. Robb and his wife, holders of the New Zealand lawn tennis mixed doubles title, today announced their retirement from major competitive events. "We may play in some local tournaments," Mr. Robb said, "but that is as far as we will go." He added that if the New Zealand championships were placed in the vicinity of Wellington or the Hutt Valley, he and his wife might participate. ' Mr. Robb said it was for family reasons that he and his. wife were retiring.
