FEW WOMEN OFFERING AS MIGRANTS
Received Tuesdav, 7 p.m. LOXDOX, Sept. 9. Despite the ever-lengthening queuc of would-be emigrants to Xew Zealand the immigration department at New Zealand House is experieneing difficulty in seeuring sufficient applications from single women, nursing trainees, domestie workers and factory operatives. At present the department has T60'» vacancies for workers in "these categories and only (300 applications. On the other hand the department u almost overwhelmed by ' applications from single men. Xo fewer than -64.-1 applications were received recently for 40 vacancies for fitters and turners an\ 846 for 96 vacancies for genera. labourers.
