FURTHER PITS ON STRIKE

50,000 MINERS NOW INVOLVED Received Wednesday, 10.5 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 3. • With fifteen more pits now involved in the strike during today, there are now 46 pits affected in South Yorkshire. Thirty-three mines have totally stopped and about 50,000 miners are on strike. The estimated daily loss is well over 200,000 tons and about 60,000 tons more will be lost every day the strike lasts. The national executive of the National Union of Miners has called upon the Grimethorpe strikers to resume work forthwith. It is stated that when work is resumed the Fact-finding Committee would investigate the dispute. The National Union of Miners would require the Grimethorpe miners' assurance that they will accept the Fact-finding . Committee's reconimendations.
