VIC PATRICK'S LAST FIGHT
Received Wednesdav, 9 p.m. SYDXEY, Sept. 3. Interviewed in bed in his house in the suburb of 5Iarrickville, Yic Patrick emphatically . endorsed his wife 's statement that lie will never fight again. He said that he planned the fight with Dawson to gain points while occasi'onally trying for a knockout. Dawson hurt him with a left hook in the second round but he boxed out of it. When the YTeventh round came and he knocked Dawson out of the ring he was sure he had the fight won. He was convinced he was ahead on poin+s and that if there had been another minute in the eleventh round he would have won 011 a knoekout. He remembered going out in the twelfth, saying: "I will flatten him now." That was where he made a mistake. He remembered getting hit and getting up. Then everyt.li ing went black. A Melbourne announcement this afternoon states that Dawson will fight Eddie Miller at 5Ielbourne Stadium on September 27. Twelve months' ago Patrick stopped Miller in six rounds.
