FOOTBALLER SUSPENDED

The suspension for three playing Saturdays of a Punahau piayer, J. Nahona, was the outcome of a report' received from a referee, Mr. A. Vertongen, at a meeting of the management committee of the Horowhenua Rugby Ufiion on Tuesday night. In his letter, Mr. Vertongen reported that during the playing of the Athletic-Punahau match at Foxton on August 2, Nahona had thrown an opposing player after | he had disposed of the ball. Con- j tinuing, the referee stated that Nahona was a very young player,! who had probably acted in "the heat of the moment," and been urged on by eomments from the spectators. It was suggested by Mr. F. G. Carrington that the suspension of three playing Saturdays should include last Saturday. This was accordingly passed as a motion.
