TWO SMALL CHILDREN DROWNED

. — CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 3. Tlie infant (laughter of the landscape gardener at Mill House, Fendalton Road, Christchurch, was found drowned this afternoon in the Wairarapa Stream which runs througli the property. She was Joan Franees Beveridge, 2 years 7 months, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thomas Beveridge. The child was found by ker father about 4.30 o'clock. Artificial respiration was applied unsuecessfully and the child was found to be dead when takeu to the Christchurch public hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Beveridge arrived in New Zealand from Canada only five weeks ago. Clive Inkson, aged two, son .of Mr. Bernard Thacker Inkson, farmer, of Omihi, was drowned in a pond near his home on Tuesday afternoon. H'e had vvandered away from the house after lunch and when his motlier went in seareh of him she found him lying in the pond. Artificial respiration was tried without result.
