"THE KANGAROOSTERS"
BRIGHT ENTERTAINMENT "The Kangaroosters," headed by George Wallace, Junr., performed to a large and appreciative audience at the Civic Tneatre, Otaki, on Monday night. The programme was a highly entertaining one, and applause was frequent from start to finish. There was a large gast of artistes, nearly twenty in all, apart from an orchestra of many talented players. George Wallace proved a firstclass comedian. His singing was much above the ordinary, while his dancing drew rounds of applause. -The star item of the evening was the excellent playing on the piano accordeon by Miss Merle Bates, the 17-year-old young lady who hails from Sydney, and who is classed as the "baby" of "The Kangaroosters." She is a musician of great ability, and her manipulation of the keys certainly did her credit. She was an entertainment . in herself, and the applause which greeted her was jprolonged and hearty. Other performers also delighted, and it was a happy and pleased gathering that left the hall at a late hour.
