IMPROVING WATER SUPPLY AT PARAPARAUMU
Negotiations- are taking place aetween the Hut.t County Council, :he Horowhenua County Council, md the Manawatu Catchment 3oard, with a view to obtaining a water supply from the Ngatiawa Stream— a tributary of the Waikanae River — that would serve all the beach areas north of Paekakariki to Waikanae. This information is contained in el report issued by the Para- ■ paraumu Beach Progressive Association. The existing lower supply Is not only inadequate for present needs, but is incapable of improvement, with a result that new residential sub-divisions cannot be connected up to an already overtaxed supply, continues the report. "The recent appearance of about 20 seats along the foreshore at Faraparaumu Beach is the culmination of over six months' endeavour by a sub -committee of the association. "Much satisfaction has been expressed by bus travellers at the erection of three bus shelters in the beach area. For a considerable time the association has been ul'ging the N.Z.R. Road Services to provide this facility."
