APPEAL TO BRITISH FARMERS.

Received Monday, 7.0 p.m. LONDON, August 4. The Minister of Agriculture, mr. Williams, addressing farmers of Nortnwich and Cheshire, said Britain wanted to get away from cereals, potatoes and sugar and concentrate oh Iivestock, says the Times. If Britain was to rogain a sound economic state, the sooner ffie started a breeding campaign to restore her Iivestock, the better. British Iivestock, provided/ feeding stuifs were available, could expand very quickly to provide the housewife with more bacon, eggs and meat. The Minister expressed regret that farmers were not ready to accept agricultural vYorkers. Farmers, by employing displaced Europeans, wonld be helping not only themselves but also Britaiu's standard of life.
