OTAKI-RAHUI BEAT HUI MAI
The match at Manakau between Qtaki-Rahui and Hui Mai was not a brilliant exposition of rugby, aithough at times there was hard and fast play which reflected credit on those taking part, The home team took the field with thirteen players, but eventually mustered the full fifteen. In the first half Otaki had a lead of 8 — 3, buc in the second half, playing with better combination, carried their score to 26 points as against Hui Mai's eight. Ramsbottom was in great form and scored three tries, while N. Gordon, P. Hakaraia and T. Henry each scored one. Tom Gray was in good kicking form, and with his conversions scored eight points. Mr. S, Graham was referee.
