WEI.L1XGTOX, August 1. A remit asking for the setting up of a comniission to inquire into. the activities of all electric powei authorities, was referred to a special committee by the Dominion conference of Federated Farmers. This step was advocated in view oi the widespread dis.satisfactioh which exists in rural areas in regard to electric reticulation and the wide disparity in the charges made by tlie • arious power supply authorities. It was suggested tlmt tlie coiumissioi. after a complefe investigation shoul-1 be empowered . (1 ) to order an amalgn mation of existing power supplv authorities or to make alterations to 'heir lioundaries so that each suppl\ autliority would be able to function as in economic unit, (2) to fix the bulk charges pavable by each powei supply autliority on the fiat rate orineiple. (3) to contro] the distribulion of all available materials for new ••eticulatign while these were in short supply.
