Prior to the enrolment ceremony the captain of the First Levin Guide Company, Mrs. F. ' Chainey, together with the disirict commissioner, Mrs. M. Kircaldie, and a captain of the Lone Guides, Miss Jarmin, travelled to Otaki to test the recruits for their tenderfoot badge. The enrolment ceremony was begun with the investment of Miss Mary James as company leader and Miss Beryl Ross as patrol leader. Following this some 20 recruits were enrolled and received their badges. Games were then played, followed by a call to the "campfire." A'^dainly supper was provided by the parents and promoters of the movement. Miss Purvis will be the acting-lieuten-ant of the company.
