len shepherd memorial competition The qualifying round for the Len Shepherd Memorial competition drew a large attendance of members to the Otaki links last Saturday. The club's tree planiing ceremony was carried out successfully last weekend and in a few years the club should have good shelter from the westerly wind. For the second round of the Dovey D'Ath Memorial, played on Sunday, the last players to finish got a good wetting; The following are the results: J. Winterburn beat A. Wilson, H. Derham beat F. Eliiott, T. Webster beat T. Gray, and J. Cooksley beat E. Anderson. In the semi-final Derham will play Winterburn and Webster will play Cooksley. The fourth round of the Tris Harper Memorial is to be played on August 16 instead of August 9.
