CHILEAN ESTATE LEFT TO NEW ZEALANDER

A Chilean estate complete with a mansion capable of aqcommodating be" tween 60 and 80 guests, with 20 acres of grounds and a large farming property, has been left to a Whangarei resident, Mrs. Jeff. The value of tht bequest is not yet known but it is expected to run into a very substantial figure. Although they had not seen eaeh other for 29 years, Mrs. Jeff had corx^sponded regularly with her late sister until the .latter's death about fivc months ago. Mrs. Jeff met her husband nearly 30 years ago at Trupan where he was oecupied in civil engineering, being engaged in the construetion of a railway from Trupan to Buenoa Aires. After their marriage they came to New Zealand, living at Auckland anu Darga ville and for the past 14 years at Whangarei. They have eight children seven of whom ax-e married and living in New Zealand. Last year Mr. Jeli retired from the Public Works Depart ment after being engaged in civil engineering for 51 years.
