GAOL URGED FOR BUILDING BREACHES
WELLINGTON, July 30. A recommendation to the Government that breaches of building permits shonld hencefortli be met by terins ot imprisonment, is eontained in a resolution adopted at the Dominion conference of the 2nd N.Z.E.F. Association. The resolution urges that all classes ot luxury building, including alterations, should be prevented by the striet control of building pormits and checking so that the permits are not 'exceeded, and that in the event of the permits b§ing exceeded, a prison sentence be 1mposed upon both the builder and qwner. and the responsible building controfTer dismissed. Another recommendation to the Governmept is that American ex-service men who have taken up their domicile in New Zealand, should be entitled to State housing under the presexxt priority given to returned servicemen.
