The W.D.F.F. held its meeting in the Anglican Hall, presided over by Mrs. Harris. After the usual business had been dealt with, a pianoforte recital was given by Gary Abel, a brilliant young pia'nist who shows great prqmise of fame. in years to come. The Paraparaumu Women's Institute held its July meeting in the Anglican Hall, presided over by Mrs. Delahunty.. s -In the absence of Miss Clarkson, who is seriously ill, Mrs. .Caterer was secretary. A very interesting talk on journalism was given by Miss Grant, at one time lady editor of fche-Manawatu Times. She was warmlyo thanked for her talk and presented with a shoulder spray in appreciation. Mrs. White Scott gave a talk cn Makogai, the leper colony, in the series of golden thread talks, and it was very interesting. A competition for a toy elephant was won by Mrs. Clarksorf. A shoulder spray competition was won' by Mrs. Weston, with Mrs. Delahunty second. Afternoon tea was served. An invitation ■ was received to attend the W.D.F.F.'s birthday party.
