Mrs. Stratford is a patient at Northcote Hospital,- Palmerston North, .being admitted today. Mr. A. Freeman, at present on holiday in Palmerston North, will return home on Wednesday. Mrs. McKinley,. of Foxton, recently celebrated- her 93rd birthday. There are six sons, four daughters, 42 grand-children and 76 great-grand-children. t Miss R. ' Clarkson, of Paraparaumu, who has been seriously ill with pleurisy and pneumonia, is reported to be making good progress. Miss K. Stibbs; who it will be remembered wrote to the Otaki Borough Council asking to*' be assisted' in securing a farm position in Otaki, writing from the Education Department Office, Southend-on-Sea, states that she had received one letter from a town adjacent to Otaki, but did not accept the positiqn as she desired to be nearer the -town. Miss Stibbs now writes to say she has given up her intention of coming ■ to Otaki in the present, as she was to be married on July 26. Her" husband lives in Scotland and it is yet possible that both will visit Otaki on some later da'te. Miss Stibbs has been with the Education Department for the past thirty years.
