Baker to'ok the- pppprturiity of extending the , thanks of .those. present to Mr. - a'nd-' Mrs,. Bateman for arranging tlie .function, and wished the guests of honour every success and happiness in their future life together. - Mr. Gunning, suitably replyi'ng on behalf of Miss Beech and himself, extended thanks to Mr. Baker for his kind remarks,. to Mr. and Mrs. Bateman for their kindness in making the evening possible and to those present for making it such a suecess. The yomrg' couple were the recipients of an array of most useful gifts for their future home. Mr. Bateman also joined in wishing both every happiness for the future. An enjoyable evening was brought to a close when .all joined hands for the singing of "Auld Lang Syne." .
