o Regret at the passing of one of its esteemed life members, Mr. W. Mason, was recorded at the annual meeting of the- Levin Racing Club last evening. The sympathy of members was , extended . to Mrs. Mason and family. Sixty-five years of single-handed service as a Salvation Army officer is the proud and unparalleled record of Envoy Stephen Buick, O.F., one of the best-known figures in Taranaki, who celebrated- his 90th birthday at New Plymouth on Monday. For the past 61 yeara he has lived and laboured in Taranaki rendering, with a fine courage and unselfish devotion, his service in town and backblocks alike.
