Five thousand had been expected, but as a result of the bus strike only 2000 were present. Prayers were offered for the King. his Ministers in Britain and the ■ Com monwealth, and for the peoples oi Britain and other nations "that, setting aside unworthy and false ambitions, they might learn to live as God 's children and members one of another" There were also intereessions for sufferers from the war.
