FARMERS' THREAT TO CUT MILK SUPPLY
AUCKLAND, July 7. Two representatives of the Aucklanc Metropolitan Millc Board are going to Wellington to discuss with the Centra Milk Council the possibility of more than half of the city's milk supply be ing withheld by New Zealand Coopera tive Dairy Company produeers, if thi policy of the Central Council of favour ing publicly-controlled treating houses is pursued. This was. decided by the board when an invitation to attend a meeting oi the council on July 25 was accepted The board will be represented by the chairman, Mr. A. S. Bailey, and lts solieitor, Mr. J. B. Johnston. A resolution received from the Waipu braneh of Federated Farmers, stating that the branch "gives its full support to the suppliers of the New Zealand Cooperative Dairy Company and Auckland Metropolitan Milk Board, in their fight against the Central Milk Council," aroused a lively discussion at the board 's meeting. Mr. F. W. Gray moved that the Waipu Federated Farmers be advised that the board was in no way involvea in the fight with the Central Milk Council but it was finally decided to receive the communication without comment.
