WOMEN'S DIVISlON

— OPIKI BRANCH MEETS j The June meeting *of the Opiki l Women's Division of Federated Farmers was presided 'bver,1 by Mrs. Kriven. On account of the inclement weather there was a poor attendance. Mrs. Hockly, of Kairanga, president of the , Manawata i executive, was a visitor and gave an interesting and inspiring talk on W.I. aims. Miss Sames also gave an interesting talk on the institute holiday trip, and showed snaps she had taken. Mrs. Kriven then gave a short talk on the institute birthday party held at Mrs. Aitchison's residence. Competition winners for the day were:— Best article made from a flour bag: Mrs. Larsen 1, Miss Sames 2, Mrs. Horn 3. Best cluster: Miss Wilson 1. Three vegetables: Mrs. Claridge 1. The hostesses were Mesdames Robinson, Irwin and Marshall. Competitions next month will be for best bloom cluster, three carrots, and a handkerchief made from a salt bag. Hostesses will be i Mesdames Larsen and Percy. A ! stall will also be held.
