ALAMEIN DAY TO BE ONE OF REJOICING
DUNEDIN, July 3. October 23, the date of the Battle of El Alamein, when the Allied forces lirst brolcc liommel's winning strealc and turned the Gernign divisions back across Egypt, will be pcrpetuated for returned servicemen of World War II and the anniversary of the battle will be known in New Zealand as Alamein Day. Sponsored by the Second N.Z.E.P. Association, proposals from the association, said: "It is important to make a great victory and should be celebratthis a day of rejoieing. ' Alamein was ed as sucli. "
