MARKET REPORT

Messrs.- Townsend and Paul, Ltd., fruit and produce merchants, Wellington, report that smaller quantities of fruits have been offered, but with the colder weather * experienced the demand has gased slightly. Good quality Chinese gooseberries, however, have oeen sought, ■ while tree tomatpes and passionfruit have been placed to advantage. All varieties of cut olooms have been wanted, supplies being badly affected due to recent inclement weather. Root crops continue in heavy supply, in most instances values being easier. Cabbage, cauliflowers, celery and kumeras, however, have been sought. Large supplies of pumpkins have come to hand, in many

instances in bad condition, values for these being low. Best quality, however, have been placed at ceiling. Smaller yardings of poultry have also been offered, prime birds again commanding keen attention, particularly. heavy hens and young ducks. j !
