COMMUNIST SUCCESSES IN CHINESE WAR.
Received Mondav, 7.0 p.m. PEIPTNG, June 29. Rofugees from areas eaptured by Chinese Comnmnists, streamed into Pei ping today as Ihe Communists neared I'aoting, eajiital of Cliihli province, and carried guerrilla warfare to within 17 uiiles of Paoting. Chinese press reports said Communist troops, assaulting the approaches to Paoting, eaptured Mancheng and lisushi, 10 niiles nortluvest and 31 miles northeast of the, beleagured eapital. Reports from Mancliuria said the Communists had intensified their aftaeks against tlie eastern outskirts of Szejiingkai and the Nationalists were rushing reinforcements there from the south.
