Miss G. S. France, of the staff of the Horowhenua Electric Power Board, today tendered her resignation to board members iri View of her forthcomihg niarriage. The managing-secretary, Mr. R. A. Frederikson, said he regr.etted losing the services of Miss France, who was his personal secretary and had been a member of the staff since 1942. The board decided to recognise her service by .granting her a month's leave with full pay. Mr. W. G. Taylor, recently elected as the Horowhenua County Council's representative on the Horowhenua Power Board, ( was welcomed by the chairman, Mr. T. G. Vincent, at today's meeting of the board, Mr. Taylor's work in other spheres was not unknown to many of the board members, and fchey were happy to have him among them, he* added. MajorGeneral R. Young also e.xpressed his pleasure at Mr. Taylor's appointment.
