SEVEN-A-SIDE RUGBY
Last week the Horowhenua diS-4 trict committee of Young Farmers' Clubs held a seven-a-side footbali tournament on the doiiiain grounds, Paraparaumu. Young Farmers' Clubs in the committeq's district fielded teaihs as follows: Levin ari A and a B team, 'Paraparaumu, Otaki-Te Horo, Pahautanui and Johnsonville one team each. In the first round Paraparaumu defeated Johnsonville 16 — 3, Otaki defeated Pahautanui 6—5, * and Levin A defeated Levin B 15 — 8. In the second round Paraparaumu defeated Otaki-Te Horo 6—0, and Levin A defeated Paraparaumu 5—0, Levin A thus wiiming the competition. The first four games were refereed by Mr. B. Suliivan, of Paraparaumu, and the final game by Mr. Chum Howell, also of Paraparaumu. The services of .these two referees were very much appreciated by the committee and by all the players. Afternoon tea was served to visitors and players at the conclusiOh of the games. If arfanfettients can be made, the Levin team will now compete in the Wellington council of Young Rafiners' Clubs' competition, to be held at Waipukurau on JUly 30. This annual competition is between the winning district teains from North, Central and SOuth Taranaki, Wanganui, Manawatu, Horowhenua, North, Central and South. HaWke's Bay and Wairarapa. Considerable interest is taken M this competition by all the districts concerned.
