LEVIN MUSIC CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS Officers were elected as follows at the annual meeting of the Levin Music Club, held recentiy in the Presbyteriap Hall: — President: Mrs. F. S. Allen; vice-president : Mrs. A. Haley; secretary-treas-urer: Mrs. N. Thornley; committee: Mrs. A.. Coles and Mr. F. Baumber. Much interest was evinced in a proposal to affiliate with the British Music Society. Mrs. M. R. Smith, last year's vice-president, had been in communication with the Wellington secretary of the society,' and gave some very interesting information on the subject. Of particular interest was the fact that Mr. W. Page, the Wellington president of the society, would visit Levin and address a meeting of the club in the near future. It was decided _to form a clup choir under the leadership of Mr. Baumber. The first club evening of the 1947 season was held recentiy. The president, Mrs. Allen, welcomed members and friends, An enjoyable programme was contributed by the following members: Miss Gardner, Mesdames H. Easton, A. Coles, A. Haley, N. Thornley, F. Routley, F. S. Allen and J. Gilmour, and Mr. F. Baumber. Supper concluded a - very pleasant evening.
