TRANSIT HOUSING TENANTS COMPLAIN

WELLINGTON, June 19. The residents of the Miramar transit liousiug camp were vigorous in then denunciation of the State Housing Corporation today for the reported alloca tion of a State house to a wonian who is said to be building her own house which will be readv.by Christmas. They alleged that there was definitely favouritism in that people outside shouJd be given -State houses ahead of transit camp tenants who were led to believe they were the most urgent cases. The complaints were suinined up by one woman who had^ been eleven months at the camp: "I've had tins place," she said, "and I '11 tear souioone apart before long if I don't get away. Tell them there is a mad woman in the camp — that's me. " Several residents of the camp eomplained that in six er seven montiii they had been there their young children had suffered from all sorts of iljnesses which they attributed to tln length of stay under existing conditions. One man said that his child hau had whooping cough, chickenpox anc, bro'nchitis, and others said their children had suffered colds, whooping cough and baby eczenia among other troubles.
