J-FORCE MEN ON WAY BACK FROM JAPAN

(Officia! New Zealand Correspondent with J Foree). KUBE, June 15. The transport Dunera left here this morning carrying 1900 J Force personnel for demobilisation or leave in New Zealand. The ship is scheduled to eall at Suva on its estimated 19 day voyage to Lyttelton where it will disembarlc South Island troops before proceeding to Wellington to disembark the reinainder. At Auckland the Dunera will pi'ck up a relief draf t to replace the last group from the Second N.Z.E.F. still on active service, which will return when the relief arrives in Japan. 'kfost who Ifefif 'tbdafy' ' HWU 'WflefftbSilised but they include 135 leave personnel. A passenger is Mr. Justice Northeroft who is returning fbr a vacation during the six weeks' recess of the Military Tnbunal for the Far East. Brigadier L. Potter, commander of the New Zealand Brigade in Japan, is also returning on leave. During his absence Brigadier S. H. Crump will assume command. Some members of the 27th Battalion who left in the battalion were also on the ship when it took the original unit, then a machinegun battalion^ fo Egypt in 1940. Entertainment during the voyage is promised by the New. Zealand concert party which has just concluded a successful tour . of the B.C.O.F. area.
