When Gus Lesnevich was training in England for his bouts with Mills and Woodcock he was assisted by a y'oung Scottish heavyweight, Ken Shaw. Joe Vella, manager of Lesnevich, took over the contract of Ken Shaw and the Scot is now fighting in New York and doing well. Another fight manager, Connie McCarthy, who handles Ike Williams, world lightweight champion, was impressed by the Irish middleweight., Pat O'Connor, and has imported him to America. Sam Goldman, who handled Pete Herma-h and Tony Canzoneri, has imported an English lightweight', Tommy McGovern.
