ON THE LINKS AT BUCKLEY
WINTER CONDITIONS FOR WEEKEND PLAY Winter golfing conditions again prevailed at Buckley over the weekend. However, members wev& present in large numbers. On Saturday afternoon a bogey match was played, J. Mabey being: the winner with two up* Sunday's attraction was a fourball best ball stableford, and the' fOllowing were the .results: — V, .Picard and S. Gledhill 44, W. C. Higgie and W. Stern 40, F. Picard and J. Chambers 40, E. Homer and D. Purcell 39, N. Mabey and ,A. Smith 38, J. Mabey and C. .Sterir 37. • : '• 4 In the "top ' dogs" competition' played over the weekend the holdr ers, V. Picard and B.. Harris, were defeated by J. Mabey and W. Stern. • The handicap committee advises that the handicap of N. Maibey has' been reduced from 9 to 7. Next Saturday a stroke competition will be held. The third qualifying round will be incorporated in this competition. On Sunday the Buckley Club will meet Oroua Downs in an interclub match at Buckley. All members are requested to be early to enable the selectors to arrange the games.
