WOMEN'S INSTITUTES

WAITARERE'S JUNE MEETING Mrs. Fagan presided at the June meeting of the Waitarere Women's Institute and welcomed visitors and members. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Turton, Swan and Fraser. One new member was enrolled. Mesdames Hood and Stanley were chosen as delegates to attend the group rqlly on July 1. Mrs. Fagan gave an excellent report on the recent council meeting at Manakau. Following afternoon tea served by the hostesses, Mesdames Weldon and Hood, Mr. c. W. Fuller gave a very interesting talk on his recent trip to South Africa. ' He was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks. The president remarked that it was unique that four generations of Mr. F.uller.'s family wer.e present— Mr." Fuller, his .daughter, grand-daughter and gr.eat grand-daughter. The monthly competitions were won as foliows: — Three WQrked bqttonholes : Mrs. Fagan 1, Mrs. Hood 2, Mrs. Stanley 3. .Condepsed milk biscuits: Mrs. Warrington 1, Mrs. HooJ 2, Mrs. Fagan 3. Best bloom: Mrs. Weldon 1, Mrs. Fagan 2, Miss Stanley 3. Manakau's Meeting • . The monthly meeting of the Manakau Women's Institute was presided over by Miss Cotter, who •extended a welcome to a good •attendance af members.
