Tacoh,, which has been missing since last Satprday morning. Three police parties. continued to' comb the country from different bases. Oue party of- Napier police. went forward with the search in • the » Tarawera- Rangitaiki area. A party ;of three from Rotorua searched Lake .* parawera itself for an oil slick and wreekage. and scanneu raarginal hillsides with glasses from a launch'. Anpthe'r groUp of searchers directed by Constable L. Bidois, of Te Whaiti, combed th.e heavy bush country in- the ■ Urewera district, all • without any elue being reported in Rotorua at a la'te hour today', Ten - aircraft were searching in sweeps of 2 to- 2J hours yesterday and- eigh.t ;- 'of • them would liave o'perated from the Rotorua • aerodrome today had the weather been good. Oper ations ' will probably be con-tinued-fomor'row, if-. the we'ather is suitable • for' flying. vfhich.-. appears to be doubtftil. Belief that the aircraft came : down in the Tarawera regioti still pre- ' vails . in official quartfers. However, hopes of discovering Hany traee of the missing Tiger Moth from the air are diininishing. Pilots who have been xn Rotorua during the week, have expressed the opinion thht the open country has been well seoured. The forested areas make aerial, observation much more difficult aiid; it is -possible that n the Moth came down iamong the trees it will be hidden for-, some time. - • ■ " ■ i-X> > . -- r-.-- •
