CHALLENGE BOWLING GAME
A bowling match which caused considerable interest was played" on the Otaki Railway green at theweekend, when C. Hook, Howard Green and Vern Cahill (Otaki Club) accepted a challenge from Edgar Wilton, Fred Rusling and Bob Henderson (Railway Club) for a 21-head game. The green was in fine order. Play of a high standard resulted and the game was closely contested, the Otaki trio winning by a point amidst excitement. Hook, ,as lead for Otaki, played his best game this season, putting up many fine shots. Rusling, his opponent, also played a great game, and there was little to choose between them. Howard Green was in great form, and so was. his; opponent, Wilton. . The skips, Cahill and Henderson, pfoved players of note, and their drawing was excellent, while they drove with accuracy. Following the above game, a match between Howard Green and Vern Cahill resulted, three players aside. The game was a good one and although the latter played well and fought hard for supremacy, his opponent scored a narrow win after two dead heads had been recorded. '
