AUCKLAND, June 2. Four people were taken to the Auckland Hospital as a result of two separate collisions at the intersection of Queen Street and Wakefield Street within abont five minutes of each other' tonight. They were: Edward Frissell, aged 41, of Birkdale; Roy Johnson, aged 56, of Remuera; his wife, Mabel Johnson, aged 51; and tbeir daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Sainty, aged 26. Except.-for Mr. Johnson they were aii able to go home after being treated for shock and abrasions. As the car in which Mr. Frissell was a passenger was crossing Queen Street froip Wakeheld Street at about 5 o 'clock it was struck broadside on by a | tramcar filled with passengers travelling down Queen Street. The force of the impact caused the car to spin round almost in a complete cirele and it came to rest faeing Wakefield Street with three wheels on the traffic island nearsst "Grey Avenue. Mr. Frissell su-ff ered abrasions to the forehead but the driver who was the only other oceupant, escaped unhurt. The tram, which struck the car with the front of its chassia suffered very little damage and no one was hurt. The damage to the car was rnainly confined to the left hand side which was severely erushed. The traffic was still being dispersed after the hold-up when a car being driven by Mr. Johnson came down Wakefield Street and struck the righthand side of an other tram with a reasounding crash that startled the 'large crowd which had gathered to examine the other car still perclied on the traffic island. Mr. Johnson was accompaniedby his wife and daughter. He was admitted to the hospital suffering from concussion And lacerations of the fore-

head, but his condition is not serious. No one in the tram was hurt.
