RACE BUS AND CAR COLLIDE AT TURAKINA
Two women passengers of a private car were injured when the vehicle was involved in a collision with a bus near the Raihvav Hotel, Turakina, at 5.50 p.m. yesterday. They were Miss L. Wilson, of 83 Tasman Street, Wellington, who suffered a fraetured rib and abrasions to the head and arms, and Mrs. D. Howard, of Wanganui, who received extensivo abrasions. Miss Wilson was admitted t,o the Wanganui Publie -Hospital, bnt Mrs. Howard was permitted to proeeed to her home after being treated as an outpatient. The collision took place at a slight bend in the road adjacent the Railway Hotel, Turakina and in consequence race traffic from Wanganui was held up for some time until the road was cleared. Both vehieles were badiy damaged, the bus having to be towed away. No bus passengers received injuries.
