Miss B. Vallance, of Levin, left on Friday by the Wahine for Australia. She expects to return to New Zealand next year and during hef holiday will stay in Sydney with her brother, Mr. Barry Yal■lanee, who was well-known in Horowhenua and Manawatu as une .of the most promising swimhiers Levin had ever produeed. At a meeting of the general committee of the Horowhenua A, and P. Association on Friday night, the .ehairman, Mi> J. A. Kilsby, made reference to the passing ^ of two members oi ihe assoeiation, Messrs. W. Davie andB. G. Gower. Mr. Davie had been i member of'the town committee and although a comparatively new member he had always been most sincere and enthusiastic" in his efforts on behalf of the associacion. Mr. Gower had been a foundation member of the associition, being a vice-president of the original committee. He had attended practically all the Horowhenua Shows and had been vell-known for his: inter-est in show activities generally. A vote of syrnpathy was passed to the reiatives of both gentlemen.
