TWO NEW SHIPS FOR N.Z. TRADE
AUCKLAND, May 22. The purchase by the Sliaw, Savill and Albion company of two steamers for its cargo services betwceu United Kingdom and New^-Zealand and Austra lia, was announced today by the eom pany represen tative at Auckland. Thtwo ships are the Samrich and Sani sylvan, both American war-built vessels of 7219 torrs gross, which have beou managed by tlie company for tln* Ministry of Transport. Tlie Samrich will be renamed the Cufic and tlu Samsyl\Tan tlie Tropic. The Samrich is now in Australia under the eonimain' of Captain A. C. .Tones, a former stalV captain of the liner Dominion Monarch She was commanded during the war by Captain G. P. McGraith, wbo is master of the company 's motor-ship Karamea now at Auckland. The Sam sylvan is now in Australtan water*under the command of Captain Iv. D G. Fislier,-G.M. >
