ARMY TRUCK EXPLODES
Received Thurstlay, 7.o0 p.m. MELBOL'KNK, May 22. Two soldiers uot yet ideutified, wfere killed wheu an Ariuy truck carryiug cordite liit a tree and exploded on tlu mai 11 highway near Benally today. The bodies were bunit beyond recognitiou aad the sky was lil with a red glar«for miles. Apparently the truck caughi iire when it smashed through one tree and into another. The Hames reache.l 200 six-inch gun charges which caused iiie coniplete demolition of the vehtcb; The bodv of a riian thought to be tlu.jriver was found on the roadway and a second bodv in the remains of the eabin. Bits of cordite canisters were found more than 70 yards from the wreckage and pieces of wrapper from the charges were left hanging in trees 40 feet from the ground. Travelling like rockets the burning canisters cut all greenerv from nearliy trees. Wheel marks showing that the truck veered gradually for (io yards, indicafe that the driver may have fallon asleep at the wheel.
