PRICE OF GAS IN LEVIN

Following the refusal of the Price Investigation Tribunal to illow an iricrease in the selling price of gas in Levin, the Levin Borough Council's gasworks committee met. As a result it recommended to last evening's meeting of the council that the minimum charg~ to consumers be increased to 5s per month, and that the additional discount of 5 per cent. on consumptions of over 5000 cubic feet monthly be discontinued. These were adopted by the council, which also approved of a deputation to. the tribunal # in regard to a subsidy.
