IDLE AND DISORDERLY CHARGE
YOUTH CONVICTED IN LEVIN Arrestdd yesterday and charged in the Police Court, Levin, this morning with being an idle and disorderly person in that he had no lawful meahs of • support, Pouaka Pehikino. alias Teddy Crown, aged 18, of no fixed abode, was cohvicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called on vithin six months. rt was stated by Constable R. Gillespie that defendant had been injured • in an accident at Hutt some time ago,'and had been wan5 lering around the country evdr since, living on his wits. He had been stopping persons on Levin streets and asking them for money, 'and had been living on rhe local churches. He had never' been before the court before, but was nnarently not very keen on work. Stating that the offence was regarded as a serious one, ahd that a term of three months' imprisonmeht was provided for Under the Act, the bench, Messrs. J. S. Moir and D. J. Gardiner, said it was a pity that he had made uch a bad start. When entering a, cpnviction, they- advised hihio return to his home town of Marton and obtain work as soon as possible. "The police wish to help you and don't -want to see you corhe before. the court again. We hope you will take this as a. less.on and give up these silly practices."-
