WOMEN'S DIVISION
SHANNON'S MAY MEETING Mrs. L. H. Best presided over a small attendance of members at the May meeting of the Shannon branch of the Women's Division of Federated Farmers, held recently. It was decided to hold a card afternoon at the residence of Mrs. A. R. Mills on a Saturday afternoon, the date. to be arranged later. The conipetitions for this afternoon will be for the best three sandwiches (any^ variety), best bloom and a peg bag. Prizes for the aggregate points
over the coming year will be donated by Mrs. A. R. Mills (flowers), Mrs. C. H. Speirs (cooking) and Mrs. W. H. Roberts (needlework) . The ladies in charge of refreshments at the next Shannon stock sale will be Mesdames R. H. Charter, U. Dujany and E. Moore. Mesdames C. Guerin and K. Thomson will attend the annual meeting of the Wellington central executive at Marton. The seeretary was asked to write to a member, Mrs. W. Moynihan, conveying' best wishes for a speedy return to health and home. Tfle; afternoon tea hostess, Mrs. K. Thomson, .provided a most enjoyable aftebflodn tea.
