TRICKED INTO WORTHLESS CONTRACTS
Eeceived Sundav, 7 p.m. CANBEERA, April 27. An allegation that skilled workers in England are being tricked into signing worthless contracts for employment. in Australia, is made by Mr.' T. Sheehan. secretarv of the Labour eaucus. He cites the ease of two girls who were earning £6 weekly in England and who were offered £7 weekly by an Austrdlian firm to corae to Australia to in struct workers. Mr. Sheehan said the girls, were given contracts but that oi: arrival- they were paid Australian award rates of £4 weekly. He alleges that the Federal Government had granted the firm facilities to bring the girls to Australia.
