Eeceived Sundav, 7.0 p.m. LONDON, April 26. Obituary: The Marquess of Bute, one of Britain 's richest men. His fortune was once reputed to be worth £60,000,000. He owned .117,000 acres aiul possessed a dozen titles and almost as inanv estates and residences including UarclifE Castle which has a gold platea staircase. In 19MS he sold his Moumjov estate on which half the city oi Cardiff is built, for £5,000,000. In coai royalties alone he used to dra^ £117,000 yeariy. He enlisted in the first world war as a private and all his five sons served in the army in the last war.
