MAN OF HIGH CHARACTER, SAYS LORD BLEDISLOE
CHRISTCHURCH, April 9. "I wish to express our real sorrow at fhe passing of your neighbour and 1 hope your friend, Dan Sullivan," said Lord Bledisloe, when speaking at a wel come to hiniself and Lady Bledisloe by the Christchurch Patriotic Societies today. ' ' Whatever our political views may lie, we must regret the passing of a man of high character and deep huinan sympathy, " added Lord Bledisloe. "He was in a very special degree a lover of his fellow men, and a man of high principles who worked very liard to carry out his Christian beliefs. I remeniber him well as Mayor of this cit-y in the time of - the industrial crisis and anxiety. For iny part 1 would like to pay tribute to him for his deep and practical sympathv with the needs oi his fellow men and women in a time oi crisis." L.ord Bledisloe expressed his sympathy with Mr. Sullivan 's relatives and the wliole gathering stood for a moment in silence.
