TRIBUTE FROM MANUFACTURERS
WELLINGTON, April 9. In a tribute to the late Mr. D. G. Sullivan, the president of the New Zealand 'Manufacturers ' Federation, Mr. W. J. Truscott, said: "With the death of Mr. Sullivan .manufacturers have lost more than the most effective champion of the New Zealand manufacturing industry iwodueed by any Governmeht. Tliey have lost a real friend. To manufacturers he was plain 'Dan' Sullivan, a familiarity which implied greater than usual respect and admiration. He was successful in his great task not only because of his unusual. conseientiousness and zeal — fact which undoubt-* edly contributed much to his untimely passing — but also because he was implementing for' New Zealand a policy of balanced industrialisation which to hiifl was a Jifelong belief and ambition. He earried out his big task as onlv a firw believer in his convictions coukl have done. Manufacturers, and indeed the whole of New Zealand, are poorer by the passing of Mr. Sullivan andjon behalf of the National Federation of Manufacturers, I have conveyed our deepest sympathy to Mrs. Sullivan and the Government.
